1st MEETING CONSUMER AND CONSUMER BEHAVIOR

The beginning of the lecture begins with a question of "what do you think about consumers or consumer behavior" and that question should be answered with one or more words. Each student must have different answers to each other. Understanding of consumer or consumer behavior also becomes diverse, so that consumer or consumer behavior is closely related to people who use a goods or services, perceptions, preferences, attitudes. Consumer behavior are all activities, actions, and psychological processes that encourage such action before buying, when buying, using, consuming products and services after doing the above or evaluating activities.
Consumer behavior research is conducted in three perspectives, namely:
• Decision-making, which is the behavior of consumers who first mencar information and consider all the good-bad before deciding to use or buy an item or service
• Eksperensial, ie consumer behavior that uses goods or services just to fulfill his pleasure without regard to the benefits of the product
• Behavioral effects, ie consumer behavior that buys or uses goods or services as a result of producer encouragement.
The survey conducted by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ujang Sumarwan, MSc. against some students in the class showed that most students have decision-making behavior as well as behavioral influence Consumer behavior can be learned through the following:
• How did he get?
• How is it consumed?
• How does he remove the remaining consumption of the part he does not consume?
Actually the science of consumer behavior has been applied to everyday life, such as driver angkot to attract the passengers to ride, then he use brokers, he put the brokers to look like passengers, then when the passengers actually rise, the brokers down. Just like the case of first travel, it can really attract customers, because the price is cheap. If the consumer caalon is not selective, it will be deceived. Therefore, we as consumers must be careful, do not be tempted by the cheap price, and always think that the business people would not want to lose. So, essentially if there are manufacturers offer cheap price, find out dullu its origin.
Benefits derived from studying consumer behavior, among others, is to assist business actors in running their business that understand consumers so as to provide satisfaction to consumers, in addition to the consumer can learn the pattern of his behavior through information obtained about consumer behavior so that consumers can limit or control his behavior.
